Unbelievable given the crazy gas prices but I filled up my Denali's 25 gallon tank today for $7 thanks to Safeways gas rebates. Gas is $1.48 here and I had $1.20 off per gallon from all my gas perks. Very cool. Thanks Safeway...I needed that Christmas gift.

I posted about the gas perks (http://thecouponcupboard.com/showthread.php?t=242) a while ago.

Lucky - both of you! Of course, I don't have the Rx's to get filled or the time to spend buying 124 boxes of cereal either!

Not to be a downer, but if you didn't have an SUV you might not have to go to such lengths to afford gas for it.

Well, and not to be a downer, but if I didn't have an SUV my disabled son would probably have a hard time making it out of the house. Braces, walkers and wheelchairs don't fit with a family of four in a little green machine.

I was just sharing the deal I got. I actually had no problem affording the gas at $4 a gallon. We don't all go to 'great lengths" cause we have to. Some of find it to be a fun challenge.

You know what happens when you assume things...

Wow, this is fabulous, Barb! I'm jealous. :sf3: The reason for this is that I had a few gas points added up, too, and didn't know they expired. Ooops! (Okay, so it would have just been 20 cents a gallon off, but still!) So I did find out on the 31st that they expired on the 31st. :th_angryJS:

By the time I got my husband to drive by there and get some gas, cars were waiting for a block to get gas... other procrastinators. hehe He had to get back to work and couldn't wait, but I'll certainly watch expire dates better next time!

Is that something your store does all the time or was it a one-time special?

I have Safeway and they do it all the time. The points expire on every quarter so defintely watch it.
