I would love to win a copy of this! My bit of advice....STAY ORGANIZED! Once you let your pile of coupons overtake you, it's hard to dig your way out.

My tip to newbies would be to not get frustrated and give up if you don't see the same savings as people post in their blogs and forums. Go at whatever pace feels comfortable and keep tweaking your coupon system (how you store coupons, how you find deals, etc.) until you find something that works for you. Even a 10% savings is better than what you had before.

I sometimes have to remind myself of this when I spend hours trying to get all the best deals in town! :icon7:

My tip for newbies would be to join a Yahoo Group that is locally based. I am a member of DFW Coupon Cuties which is based in the Dallas area. The members have been so helpful with their advice and helpful hints. I hope I win a copy of YMMV. :-)

I am new to thos blog, so forgive me if I repeat anything. The most important thing I have learned is to take one step at a time. Do not expect to build your stockpile over night. It takes time. I have also learned the hard way that it is ok to make mistakes, and you are going to overpay for some things along the way. That is ok, you are still saving money if you use a Q!

My first bit of advice is:

BUY MULTIPLES OF YOUR SUNDAY PAPER!!!!

A good rule of thumb is to buy one double pack of papers for each person in your family. Our family consists of me, my dh and 3 kids. So I buy 10 papers each week. This makes it easy to really stock up on a good deal instead of just being able to get one or two of the item on sale.

When couponing starts to become a chore, think of it as a game, I always think of it as a treasure hunt. I go looking almost every weekday for something. The treasures are out there. Ads are your maps and coupons are your clues to find what you need. If you stick with it, you can feed your family for at least 60-70% off what you would pay without coupons. Last year I spent an average of $166/month at the grocery stores for a family of 3. Before I started couponing (5 yrs. ago) I spent about 800/month. I use my savings for vacations and went to Atlantis in the bahamas and Disney world. God provides me with everything I need, it is my job to go out there and get the items he provides me with. I now have a huge stock pile with more than enough to share with others. I still am in amazement at how blessed I am.

Hi my tip is staple all the like coupons but make sure to line them all up. Cant tell you how many coupons i have wasted from not checking this. :-( makes me sad all the money I threw away. LOL But if you line all the coupons right it take so little time to cut and sort!!!

Try your best to stay organized as often as possible, from forms to coupons, you can't save if you can't fine 'em!
PS: I wanna win this so bad! Riff Parker is great!

I'm new to couponing...well new to actually WORKING it, but I've dabbled and researched and played with the idea now for over a year. I stumbled upon a video of Riff's tip on how to staple then cut multiple copies of inserts. THAT tip alone will save me HOURS of time every year and, afterall, time IS money!

My biggest question right now is about how to tell OTHERS what I'm doing. They think I'm nuts and it's sort of hard to give a 30 second informercial on this way of doing coupons. Most folks think it's too much hassle.

I hope I win...I think the DVD might actually help me in my quest to share this with others!
