I went back to TT to get the strawberries I forgot to get yesterday. This is what I found t be a good deal this time:
Hormel pepperoni is not in the ad but is on sale for $1.67. We have a .35 coupon that triples making them .62. With the Ragu spaghetti sauce from weeks ago for the pizza sauce and the cheese from kroger, pizza will be really cheap to make for a meal. (pepperoni and onion will be the only variety I serve that night..LOL)
Hormel Pepperoni Package, any .35 (3-14-09) SS 1/18/09
The Hillshire farms smoked sausage link is on sale for $2.50 less the $.35 q that triples making them $1.45. This is a cheap meal (we just got onions for bogo at kroger last week and super1 foods has potatoes this week (15#/5.98). If you take and layer in a casserole thinly sliced potatoes sprinkle generously with Cajun seasoning, onions cut into rings then 1/2 your sausage link cut into 1/2" slices. and repeat above. Cover with foil and bake in oven at 350 degrees for 1 hour.
Hillshire Farm Smoked Sausage, any .35 (3/31/09) RP 1/25/09
Also the lil' smokies are on sale for $2.50 and there is a $1 off one coupon and $1/2. I used the $1 off one making them 1.50 each. I use these for a quick meal with macaroni and cheese. I brown them in a skillet and serve with mac and cheese and a veggie for a quick, easy meal.
Hillshire farm cocktail links, $1 (2/28/09) Miller super party flyer
Hillshire Farm Cocktail Links, any $1 on 2 (3/31/09) RP 1/25/09
My thought on the situation is anytime I can serve meat for $1.50/meal...it is a good deal. I know it is not the healthiest but it is ok to have once or twice a month. They freeze fine, in fact I took the last lil' smokies pack out of my freezer last week and they were fine, a year later. Anyway, just sharing waiting on my daughter to get out of bed!!!!!
