I just read a great article in the Real Simple March issue that talks about ways to buy in bulk and actually USE those items. They have a page in the magazine that says they will have more ideas online but I can't get it to work so lets start our own.

Some of the suggestions were:

Buy the large package of strip steak and portion it out into ziplocks with marinade and freeze
Use the ginormous can of crushed tomatoes to make soup and freeze it in smaller portions
Bagged spinach can be made into spinach pesto and frozen into individual uses (I love that idea, never thought to make spinach pesto)

I personally love how Costco is bringing in a lot more organic. I look for packages that are already divided. Use one and freeze the rest.

So, what are some of the things you buy and tricks to make sure it isn't wasted?

Instead Of Buying The Expensive Refills Of Scrubbing Bubbles Automatic Shower Cleaner, I Simply Buy A One Dollar Bottle Of Daily Shower Spray And Unscrew The Cap On The Original Refill Bottle And Pour In The Much Less Expensive Cleaner! Once You Pour It In, You Will Have To Take The Sprayer Off Of The Shower Hook And Turn It Upside Down To Screw The Recapped Bottle In Place. Then Just Simply Rehang Your Cleaning Bottle And Continue To Use As You Did The Much More Expensive Scrubbing Bubbles Refill Bottles. You Will Save At Least Sixty Or Seventy Dollars A Year With This Method. The Ingredients Are Almost Identical And You Can Find Different Scents To Use. I Have Tried It And I Know That It Works In Both Of Our Showers!!!!

Good Housekeeping Doesn't Mean You Have To Spend A Fortune!:)
