Brookshires ad this week has pilgrim's pride split chicken breast on sale for .99/#

I took the ad to walmart and price comped it. The large packages have 5.5 pounds so are $5.45 each (unless you get a checker who can't do simple math like I did so I told her to figure a dollar per pound...so $5.50 each, which she did)

They also had russet potatoes on sale for $1.50/5# which isn't to bad.

I came home with 5 packs of chicken, each having 6 breasts in them...I packaged 2 packs of 3 breasts as the chicken with bone, did 8 more packs, removing the chicken from the bone, cutting out the breast tenderloin and saving any small pieces...this gave me one package of chicken strips and one package of stir fry chicken.... so all together I got 12 meals for 27.50 or 2.29/meal (family of 3) which is a good price for pilgrims pride. Walmarts regular price is around $10/package. I figured I saved gas by going to walmart instead of having to drive to Brookshires too.

here is the ad:
