The long and the short of this story is to not use your mfg and/or Target coupons at the register when you pay for your order, but present them AFTER the Price Match has been done at the Customer Service Desk. Multiple employees and a call to corporate later, this is the conclusion drawn. The best way to do a transaction where you want to have a PM done AND use coupons for the items is:
Purchase items in the regular line.
Take the items, your receipt, ads to price match and coupons to the Customer Service Desk.
Have Customer Service Price Match the items.
Have Customer Service deduct your mfg and/or Target coupons.
Get a refund for the amount overpaid on the original transaction from Customer Service.
If you are paying with your debit card, the total amount will be deducted from your bank account immediately, but the credit will take a couple of days to post - just a word of warning if funds are tight. Better to pay cash so there is no "time-delay" on getting your money back.
