I was doing a survey for Kroger today and I am about bust out laughing at this. Do companies really think we are this stupid???
Which of the following is the best offer for you, yourself when shopping for groceries?
(Please select a single response)
1 for $2.00
3 for $6.00
2 for $4.00
These are similar offers
Not sure
None of these
You must buy all 4 on a "4 for $5" in order receive the discount?
I don't believe that "buy-one-get-one-free" deals save you much money?
Good sales show that Kroger cares about my budget?

It is VERY hard to take those surveys since I started to coupon because everything they write now is like "Disagree" "Disagree" Because I think EVERYTHING is over prices now lol

That is funny, but seriously I wish they would post items at 1/2 the price instead of BOGO...which would get rid of the problem of using 2 coupons on a bogo. Kroger, CVS and walgreens won't let me use 2 coupons on bogo items so it has been a problem. If they would just price each item at 1/2 , they would sell more and we could use a coupon on each.

Oh that is great. Uh, doh, they are all the same price. I was seriously be concerned for someone if they didn't realize that. But then again some people are uninformed and think you do have to buy 2 to get them for $2/each. (Like my husband even after I've told him a hundred times you don't have to buy 2 or 3, or 10!!!)

OMG I tell my MOM ALL THE TIME (who is not a couponer) You don't have to buy 10 of the same on a 10/$10 sale! 5 years later she still does not listen lol

I've known for years that you don't have to buy all 10 or all 4 to get the discount (I asked a store employee the first time I shopped for myself), but I'm sure the stores put it that way so that people who don't know spend more money at a time.
Once, my sister was in line at our local Rite-Aid and the cash register was broken so there was quite a line and only one clerk working. The customer being helped was buying something advertised at "3 for $5" but he was only buying 1. The clerk didn't have a calculator and was having a hard time figuring out the price for one and all the other customers in line were shouting out wrong answers like, $1.50, $1.25, $2.00. My sister finally got tired of waiting and told the clerk it was $1.66 and when it got to her turn to check out, he asked her how she knew the answer. She told him she went to school and he said "cool!"

I used to think Everyone would start couponing and buying LLs and ruin it for me. This post reminds me of all the glossed over eyes looking back at me when talking to friends about how much money they could save with LLs or coupons. NO one can THINK for themselves, much less divide. Ugh! My dear mom, bless her heart, will wash her baggies then pay full price for bone in skin on chicken, or roast or well....anything. And as much as I try to help, it's like she has ear plugs for all I say.
And it isn't just her!
My best friend. Slammed trying to feed her family on $14 she found in the car. Once the pressure was off, she was back to giving away her money.

Hello everyone!
I had an interesting experience last shopping trip with a BOGO on Gortons - I used two coupons and the cashier told me that I couldn't since one item was free. I said can you please verify that with someone, as it's not been a problem so far. She called over the head cashier, and he told her that yes I could use two coupons, and asked if she'd tried to ring them up (she hadn't even attempted it) and she then rang it up - with no beeps or alarms. I thought it was the end of it - but no... She then says she's going to call the store manager to make sure. Amazing! She just couldn't stand that I saved with the 2nd coupon. I have started a mental list of cashiers to avoid when using that store - seems that most men cashiers are easier with coupon users at that particular store... Anyone have any similar observations?
Also, I am newer to coupon clipping -and this site. I am in CA. I've found that a lot of deals people on the web talk about are not available in my area. Anyone in No CA? I would love to have a coupon buddy in my same region to compare notes with - if anyone's interested? I just get blank stares from the other Moms at my son's school or family that I'm trying to convert... Drop me a line if you're available to compare bargains and finds in the wild, wild west.
Thank you,
Courtney in No CA
