I am loving this coupon stuff it is so exciting. I have been reading different blogs and they are so helpful.
I think it's awesome that people take their time like this to help other people save money. I am having a lot of trouble understanding what people mean by catalinas though.

A catalina is a coupon that spits out of a machine that sits next to the register. It is triggered by items you purchase. Catalina is the name of the company that owns/programs the machines so they are called catalinas.

I had a friend who I was helping learn to coupon and one day she ask me what I did with all that catalina dressing I was getting? I about died laughing, but certainly understood her confusion.

Welcome to the world of couponing. It is so much fun...I look at it like a treasure hunt each day...coupons are my clues. ads are my map and all I have to do is go get the free stuff (or really cheap stuff) I use to absolutly hate to grocery shop, now I do it almost daily during the week. I consider it my job so I can stay home and not have to go to a job.

I just wanted to add to Kims awesome answer that sometimes catalinas are referred to as Register Rewards or RR's.

Welcome!

Adding something myself...catalina can mean one of two things to me:

1) a manufacturer's coupon that can be used on an "item" your next purchase
2) $$ value off your next purchase

Both are awesome to get! They help you maximize your savings, and not all stores give them. We're here to help you learn that, though. Down here in Texas, we can receive these @ Walgreen's (WG), Krogers, Albertsons (Albies) and Tom Thumb (TT). (Just want to you to get used to abbreviations also! :)) Let us know what stores you have and we'll let you know how to maximize that savings. Welcome to TCC and glad you joined!

I'll try in the next few weeks to find some deals at those stores for ya. Gimme time, though! I'm in the process of moving/packing, so I'll do my best.
